Real Grass over Artifical Turf

At Valley Kid Sports, our intention is to prioritize the use of real grass for our fields, as it promotes a natural playing environment that benefits athletes' safety and performance. We recognize, however, that there are situations where artificial turf may offer practical advantages, such as in areas that are not optimal for growing grass or high usage rates that could compromise the integrity of natural grass. By maintaining an open-minded approach, we aim to make informed decisions that serve the best interests of players, ensuring optimal playing conditions while also considering long-term sustainability and maintenance feasibility.

 Real Grass

Real grass is best for natural aesthetics and environmental benefits. It requires more ongoing maintenance and is susceptible to weather-related issues. It is ideal for less-intensive use or areas with adequate water resources and mild climates.

 Artificial Turf

Artificial turf is best for high-traffic fields and all-weather use with minimal maintenance. It does come with higher initial costs, but lower long-term upkeep. It also brings environmental and health concerns, and the field’s surface temperature can be problematic in hot climates.
